United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit

March 3, 1891 26 Stat. 826	Congress established U.S. circuit courts of appeals for each of the nine judicial circuits and assigned the sitting judge of the U.S. Circuit Courts for the First Circuit to sit also on the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, effective June 16, 1891. The act also authorized an additional judgeship for the First Circuit’s new court.
January 21, 1905 33 Stat. 611	One additional judgeship authorized for the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
January 28, 1915 38 Stat. 803	This act assigned the District of Puerto Rico to the First Circuit and provided for appeals from the district court of Puerto Rico to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
October 20, 1978 92 Stat. 1629	One additional judgeship authorized for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
July 10, 1984 98 Stat. 333	Two additional judgeships authorized for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
